Who Am I?

When searching for a Personal Trainer, the most important thing, after checking they have the correct qualifications and procedures in place to safely train someone, is that you get along with that person. For me the biggest part of my job is having fun whilst training someone, I want to ensure my clients are enjoying their sessions and we have a nice relationship alongside this. Being able to have a chat and a laugh, makes the sessions far more enjoyable and go far quicker.

For this reason, I think its important to give you a little idea of who I actually am behind the Personal Trainer title.

I am one of those people who genuinely does enjoy exercise in all forms. Growing up, I always played team sports (mainly football) and this formed my love of all things fitness. The buzz of exercise is why i do it, especially getting outdoors in the fresh air.

Most weekends you will find me and my husband hiking and exploring in our camper van with our dog. Running, tennis, snowboarding and the gym are all things that I do as much as possible. I am of the firm belief that I practice what I preach, eating a little bit of everything and moving to feel good. I don’t believe in highly restricted diets for general life or punishing yourself through exercise. Food is my big love, especially MacDonalds and sweets and I love eating out and finding new restaurants to try. I try to find a healthy balance in life of enjoying everything and moving my body.

What do I do as a personal trainer?

Well, I am a personal trainer. But what does that actually mean?

For me, I am your motivation, your guidance and your gentle push to achieve more. I will be there to encourage you when you may have given up on your own, sometimes the sofa is far more appealing than the squat rack. Being able to guide you through exercises safely and effectively. To assess your personal needs within the gym and to help your body to move as it should. I want that niggle in your shoulder to be a thing of the past and your painful back to be your new strength. I am there to push you towards your goals gently and at your own speed.

If you are looking for a personal trainer who will shout and punish you for drinking too much at the weekend or for the takeaway you had on Friday night, then I am not for you. With me, you will gain a deeper understanding of how your body works. Making sure you are moving with purpose and moving as much as possible without pain or niggles. We can work out together how to fuel your body to make you feel good and to fuel your lifestyle.

I am not a quick fix for weight loss or a fast track to fitness but I am the person to help give you the tools to achieve your health and fitness goals.
